What???

Today's run was a pretty good workout, but the nike+ recorded a not-so-good pace. The nike website states that the nike+ transponder has a lifespan of around one year. Mine could have been on the shelf for awhile, wonder if it's busted already...

Distance: 3.11 km
Time: 20 mins 11 secs
Pace: 6 mins 28 secs per km (cannot be...)

I'm melting.... at least when I get to wear this...

Manage to chance upon Ploh where they specialize in lush beddings (pillows, duvets, case and covers) and robes. I've this thing about robes and have been on a constant look out for a plush robe for myself (I'm straight, seriously). Everybody has the right to pamper themselves right...

10 K... almost...

First long distance run a long while. Went from home, down through Upper Thomson Road to Bishan Park, covered both the sections of the park then back Upper Thomson and home. Pretty relaxing paced run, no issues after the run which is great. Found it much more enjoyable when there are fellow runners about, not many dogs though (phooey!). Will do East Coast one of these days before the Passion Run.

Distance: 9.58 km
Time: 54 mins 55 secs
Pace: 5 mins 43 secs per km

P.S: The dips shown in my run-progression is due to waiting time at traffic lights

Sweat

Two rounds round the estate, good run. Was doing some calculation, to be able to clock below 10 mins for the 2.4 km run, I'll need to be doing 1 min 39 secs for each 400 m round or 250 secs per km or 4 mins 10 secs per km.

My current average pace is 5 mins 41 secs per km...

Engineering Genuis

Alexia's air-conditioning has been leaking water recently so I decided to come up with some modification for a temporary solution.

Alexia decided to chip in her ideas and the simple plan mutated horribly.... well at least it works...

Silly me

Another run round the estate, believed did it at a pretty good timing but the Nike + says otherwise. Guess it's still just an approximate.

Note to self: Do not attempt to go grocery shopping after running unless driving.

Dist: 2.9 km
Time: 15.11 mins
Pace: 5.14 per km

The 501st Legion

Singapore's very own

I've always been a fan of the Stormtroopers ever since my dad first brought me to watch Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (cue light saber sound) back in 1993.

I can still vaguely remember the little boy, no taller than his father's waist, holding tightly to his hand with a silly little grin of anticipation on his face as they waited with the crowd outside the cinema for the show to start. Awww.....

Some photos of the Singapore 501st Legion at the recent Chingay 2008 celebrations.
(Last pic - Clement, Alexia's friend is one of them)

Another Stormtrooper fanatic, Danny Choo. He's got a very interesting site which focuses on Japanese Culture, Anime, Gundam and Stormtroopers (including how to modify your very own Stormtrooper armor). Maybe someday I'll get my very own set, provided my girlfriend / wife at that time doesn't freak out. Link to his site here

Alexia's first exercise 2008

Hahaha, don't kill me for the title!

Well, we've managed to come to a conclusion that brisk-walking is the way to go... (she hates doesn't enjoy running).

Did a 25 minutes brisk-walk around her estate. Didn't really work up a sweat but am actually very happy that we've found an exercise that she doesn't mind doing.

Now the question is when will the next session be?

Distance: 4 km (Approx)
Time: 25 mins

Burn baby burn!

First interval run in awhile, not too bad but there's always room for improvement...

1st 1.2 km: 6.45 mins
2nd 1.2 km: 6.00 mins
3rd 1.2 km: 5.40 mins

Coincidence? I think not!

Decided to try another run today but switched the Nike+ transponder from my left shoe to my right shoe. Surprisingly, no more pain in my left shin...

Need to start upping the distance for Passion Run.

Distance: 3.18 km
Time: 17.30 mins
Pace: 5.29 per km
