Gundam 00

Yet another Gundam series. Though I would have to say that this would be one of the better ones produced to date.

A short summary from Animenewsnetwork:

"It is the year A.D. 2307. Fossil fuels on Earth have been depleted entirely, with mankind turning to the next available power source: solar energy. During this time, 3 orbital elevators with solar power generation systems are built, each under control by the Union of Solar Energy and Free Nations (formerly United States of America), the Human Reform League (Russia, China and India) and the Advanced European Union. However, not all countries are able to enjoy the benefits of this system, leading to widespread resentment and war. Arising out of the conflict, a mysterious military organization known as Celestial Being appears, dedicated to end all warfare using Mobile Suits called Gundam.

This begins the stories of Gundam Meisters (pilots) Setsuna F. Seiei, Lockon Stratos, Allelujah Haptism and Tiera Erde as they are thrown into conflict between the 3 superpowers and the various other factions."

Ironman Mark II (Hot Toys)

Ironman Mark II

Hot Toys will be releasing the Ironman Mark II in the fourth quarter of 2008. Previous release was the Ironman Mark III which seems exactly the same less the painted armor.

Didn't see the point to get that since I've already have the Ironman Comiquette Maquette and pre-ordered the Ironman Life-Size Bust.

The IRON MAN MARK II features:

- Authentic and detailed fully realized Mark 2
- Stands approximate 30 cm tall
- Over 36 points of articulations
- Special features on the MARK II armor:
+ Light up glowing eyes and heart (battery operated)
+ Articulated flaps at back of the armor and on legs
+ Working forearms missile
- Three pairs of Interchangeable hands, including light up replusor palms
- Alternate head that has a raising face- plate revealing the face of Robert Downey Jr. as TONY STARK

Armageddon

Remember Armageddon by Bruce Willis back in 1998 where a meteor the size of Texas (approx 696,241 km²) was on a collision course with good old Earth. They managed to change the trajectory of the meteor and it skipped over the Earth's atmosphere and we're all still here today. This is what would have happened if another came our way...

There goes my toy collection!

P.S: Singapore is 707.1 km²

Singapore Bay Run (10km)

Did the 10km competitive run with Man, Mike couldn't make it.

Didn't make any prior arrangements to meet before the run as I assumed Man was running with his colleagues. Incredibly, we bumped into each other while both trying to locate the baggage deposit area (how come no sign boards???).

Weather was great despite the rainy streak we've been having. Padang become a massive mud pit which I had to traverse to get my championship chip re registered.... my poor Kayanos....

7.30am was the kick off time but with the amount of people it was a good five minutes before we could start jogging. Hrrm... wonder if it's possible to spot us in the picture below. We were on the right side of the bridge around the middle...

This time being less stupid, I took a look at the route before the run so had a rough idea of where we'll be going. Plus I had my iPod which gave me an estimate of the distance covered.

And the results are out! I'm number 551 of 2061 for the men's 10km competitive with a timing of 1hr 1min and 25.25 secs. Man's timing was 1hr 5min 22.22 secs.

Meet my Nike+ Mini! Quite the resemblance eh. Currently in Beta version on Nike Singapore. Anyways, another interval run around the estate. Pretty good but need to amp it up for the coming Marina Bay Run (10km).

Medicom Shock Trooper

Another item on my "Things to buy" list, though this one's gonna burn a hole in my pocket...

An afternoon run around the estate in the blazing sun (interval run). Shades came in useful. And then came the rain.

The Dark Knight

Why So Serious?

Managed to catch The Dark Knight as Alexia managed to score free tickets! We were however late in getting the tickets and ended up with front-row seats... well, okay, we got the second row (on the right) from the screen.

Half-way through the show Alexia went: "What's wrong with their shoulders...one side's higher than the other..."

Ans: "We're sitting too close to the screen."
